This article focuses on a study examining the impact of event specialism on the pre-competition psychological skills of Parkour Traceurs, athletes who practice Parkour. The study involved 16 experienced Traceurs competing in either speed-run or freestyle events, with psychological assessments conducted before competition using validated scales such as the Parkour Self-Efficacy Scale and Competitive State Anxiety Inventory–2. Results indicated no significant differences in pre-competition psychological profiles between the two event specialisms. The findings suggest that Parkour athletes share similar psychological skill sets regardless of their event focus, highlighting the need for further research comparing Parkour with other lifestyle sports to assess the donor sport concept in athlete development.
